Live versus RNG Roulette: Which Rules Should You Compare?

CASINO101 • RESEARCH & EXPLANATION

The presentation format and the wheel rules answer different questions.

What to check

A streamed table presents a dealer and physical equipment; a software game presents its results electronically. Neither format alone tells you the number of zero pockets, payout schedule or treatment of zero. Open the game’s help screen for these fields before comparing the visual experience.

A worked example

Consider two hypothetical tables with standard 35:1 straight-up payouts. A live double-zero game has 38 pockets; an RNG single-zero game has 37. A €1 straight-up wager has expected net −€2/38 in the first and −€1/37 in the second. The difference comes from the wheel and payout, not the presence of a video stream.

Keep these fields separate

Field Meaning
Wheel and payouts Record the actual rule panel.
Round pace Changes turnover per hour, not the probability of a pocket.
Connection failure Read settlement rules rather than assuming a refund.

Use the result carefully

These examples explain the conditions and arithmetic. They are not reports of our own real-money testing, guarantees of an outcome, or reasons to increase a stake. Where a required field cannot be verified, record it as unconfirmed rather than choosing a favourable assumption.
