Roulette Table Limits: Why a Martingale Sequence Can Stop

CASINO101 • RESEARCH & EXPLANATION

A doubling sequence is constrained by available money and the table’s maximum stake.

What to check

A system that doubles after each loss changes how much is at risk. It does not change the wheel’s probabilities. Write down both the minimum and maximum accepted stake before analysing any sequence; do not use a theoretical unlimited-bankroll example as a practical result.

A worked example

Starting at €5, six consecutive losing wagers of €5, €10, €20, €40, €80 and €160 cost €315. The next requested stake is €320. A €200 table maximum prevents that wager even if another €320 is available. A shorter sequence of small wins does not demonstrate protection against this stopping point.

Keep these fields separate

Field Meaning
Table maximum Can stop the next doubling.
Available balance Can stop the sequence before the maximum.
Selected wins Do not describe the distribution of all sessions.

Use the result carefully

These examples explain the conditions and arithmetic. They are not reports of our own real-money testing, guarantees of an outcome, or reasons to increase a stake. Where a required field cannot be verified, record it as unconfirmed rather than choosing a favourable assumption.
