CASINO101 • RESEARCH & EXPLANATION
Permission to double or split can include important hand-specific exceptions.
What to check
Check eligible doubling totals, doubling after splitting, maximum split hands and split-ace treatment. Also distinguish a two-card natural from 21 after a split. A short lobby label such as “classic blackjack” does not answer these questions.
A worked example
For an invented €10 hand, doubling adds €10 and usually commits the hand to one further card under standard double-down rules. Splitting a pair creates two €10 wagers. If both can later double, total money committed can rise to €40. This example explains stake exposure; whether each action is permitted depends on the actual table.
Keep these fields separate
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Double after split | Allowed for these split hands? |
| Split aces | One card only, resplitting, natural payout treatment? |
| Strategy | Match the exact restrictions and shoe rules. |
Use the result carefully
These examples explain the conditions and arithmetic. They are not reports of our own real-money testing, guarantees of an outcome, or reasons to increase a stake. Where a required field cannot be verified, record it as unconfirmed rather than choosing a favourable assumption.
